Jason Momoa transformed the red carpet into a heartfelt family celebration at the premiere of Chief of War on Friday, July 18, 2025, in Ko Olina, Hawaii. The Aquaman star didn’t just arrive solo—he made the event a family affair, appearing alongside his children, 16-year-old Nakoa-Wolf and 17-year-old Lola, all dressed in striking, coordinated outfits that paid homage to their Native Hawaiian heritage.

Momoa commanded attention in a dramatic fur cape, accented with two bone daggers and a bone necklace, evoking the fierce warrior spirit central to the miniseries. Chief of War, co-created by Momoa and Thomas Paʻa Sibbett, tells the story of a warrior’s quest to unite Hawai‘i’s four kingdoms before Western colonization in the late 1700s. The series is deeply personal for Momoa, a proud Native Hawaiian, who described the project as playing “my ancestors” and said, “If I fail, I’m not coming home. Home. You know, I can’t come home. We could be embarrassed. And I mean, it’s everything, it’s my soul, it’s my DNA. I think today is going to be probably the most impactful and important moment in my life,” in an interview with KHON.

Momoa shares his children with ex-wife Lisa Bonet. Though the couple separated in 2020 and finalized their divorce in 2024, they maintain a close co-parenting relationship, supporting one another as a family.
