Manny Pacquiao Wants Mark Wahlberg to Bring His Life Story to the Big Screen

If a biopic about the legendary Manny Pacquiao ever makes it to Hollywood, the iconic boxer has one name in mind to lead the project—Mark Wahlberg. In a recent conversation with TMZ Sports during a training session for his upcoming fight against Mario Barrios, Pacquiao revealed his trust in Wahlberg to tell his story.

“Mark Wahlberg, he always watched my training camp here in Wildcard, he knows almost all my life stories,” Pacquiao shared. “Mark Wahlberg’s my friend, he’s a nice guy.”

Pacquiao’s life is nothing short of cinematic—rising from humble beginnings to become a boxing champion, basketball player, singer, and even a politician. While his journey has already been dramatized in the Philippines through Pacquiao: The Movie, that film didn’t perform well at the box office.

When asked who should play him, Pacquiao hinted at someone even closer to home—his son, who not only shares his likeness but also has acting experience.

With Wahlberg’s extensive background in starring and producing films, especially in the sports and action genres, he seems a perfect fit to both lead and shape a Hollywood retelling of Pacquiao’s remarkable life. For studios eyeing a compelling story of grit, glory, and heart, Pacquiao’s message is clear: when it comes to telling his story, Wahlberg is the man to call.
