LOS ANGELES — Authorities are investigating a burglary at actor Brad Pitt’s residence in the Los Feliz neighborhood, law enforcement sources confirmed to NBC News on Thursday. The incident occurred late Wednesday night, with thieves reportedly scaling a front fence and breaking a window to gain entry before ransacking the home.
Pitt was not present during the break-in, sources said. Police have not released the estimated value of the stolen items or specific details about what was taken, describing the haul only as an unknown amount of miscellaneous property.
A spokesperson for the Los Angeles Police Department confirmed the burglary happened around 10:30 p.m. but declined to disclose the identity of the homeowner, a detail that sources confirmed as Pitt’s residence.
The suspects remain at large. Police are actively searching for three individuals believed to have carried out the break-in by climbing over the fence and forcing entry through the window.
This incident adds to a troubling pattern of burglaries targeting high-profile neighborhoods in Los Angeles and throughout Southern California. Just on Valentine’s Day, the home of actress Nicole Kidman and musician Keith Urban was burglarized. A week prior, Olivier Giroud, the French National Team forward and Los Angeles Football Club star, also suffered a break-in where a “significant amount” of jewelry and other valuables were stolen.
Authorities have not confirmed any links between these crimes and the South American burglary crews known to have operated in the Los Angeles area for over a decade, targeting luxury homes across the country.
As police continue their investigation, the incident serves as a stark reminder of the growing security concerns among celebrities and affluent residents in the region.
