Tom Holland has officially revealed the complete new Spider-Man costume for the highly anticipated sequel Spider-Man: Brand New Day, set to swing into theaters on July 31, 2026.
The BAFTA-winning actor gave fans their first full look at the web-slinger’s fresh ensemble in a short, atmospheric teaser released Saturday. In the clip, Holland’s silhouetted figure emerges through the grand doorway of a soundstage before confidently stepping toward the camera in the sleek, updated suit. Accompanying the teaser, Holland teased fans with the simple caption: “Are you ready? – 7.31.2026.”
Sony Pictures had previously stirred excitement on Friday by dropping a sneak peek of the new costume—an event timed to coincide with the 63rd anniversary of Spider-Man’s debut in comic books. The studio also confirmed the title of the sequel at CinemaCon earlier this year, following its addition to the summer 2026 release calendar last October.
For Holland, returning to Spider-Man feels like reconnecting with an old friend. Speaking about the upcoming film, he expressed palpable excitement: “I’m obviously over the moon and so excited. Playing Spider-Man is like hanging out with an old pal.”
He also highlighted the fresh creative approach for this chapter. “We were really restricted with what we could do in the last movie because of COVID; we shot the entire film on stages,” Holland explained. “Now, we’re really gonna lean into that old-school filmmaking and shoot in real locations, which is why we’re starting in Glasgow. We’re gonna use the streets of Glasgow to build this massive set-piece that we’re putting together. So it’s gonna feel like making Spider-Man 1 again. It’s been such a long time since I’ve done it, it’s gonna feel like a breath of fresh air, and I think the fans are going to be over the moon with what we’re putting together.”
The film’s direction is in the capable hands of Destin Daniel Cretton, known for Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings. The production team also includes Sony veteran Amy Pascal alongside Marvel Studios’ Kevin Feige. Zendaya returns as MJ, with production slated to begin once both she and Holland wrap up work on Christopher Nolan’s The Odyssey. Additionally, Stranger Things star Sadie Sink and Liza Colón-Zayas have joined the cast in undisclosed roles, hinting at exciting new developments ahead.
As anticipation builds, Spider-Man fans worldwide are already buzzing—ready to swing into what promises to be a thrilling new chapter for the beloved webbed hero.
