Move over Aquaman—Jason Momoa is now fully embracing his new role as the infamous DC antihero Lobo, and he’s introducing the world to the character’s favorite word: “bastich.”

Reacting to the newly released Supergirl poster on Instagram, Momoa cheekily wrote, “Look out bastich,” nodding to the menacing twist on Superman’s classic “Look Up” slogan now turned “Look Out.” The poster features Milly Alcock’s Kara Zor-El donning a brown coat and enjoying a drink, signaling a grittier tone for the upcoming 2026 series.

For those unfamiliar, Lobo is a foul-mouthed bounty hunter notorious for peppering his speech with “bastich”—a blend of “bastard” and “bitch.” Despite its harsh sound, the term often serves as a kind of rough camaraderie among characters in the DC universe.

Momoa’s shift from the ocean depths as Aquaman to the cosmic wild west of Lobo was met with enthusiasm behind the scenes. According to Momoa, he texted DC Studios chief James Gunn with a simple, emphatic “fucking LOBO,” to which Gunn responded, “Dude, I’ve said you should be Lobo for years, no lie.”

Lobo’s first appearance in the new DC Universe (DCU) will be in Supergirl, where he’s set to play a pivotal role aligned with the original draft of Tom King’s Supergirl: Woman of Tomorrow comic series—helping Kara on her intense quest for revenge.

Beyond Momoa’s Lobo, the DCU’s Chapter One continues to take shape with a Lanterns series wrapping filming, a Clayface movie underway, and a fast-tracked Wonder Woman reboot hinting at a new Diana Prince arriving sooner than expected. Though a Batman casting remains under wraps, excitement is building for the expansive new DC slate.

So, if you “bastiches” want to stay ahead of the DCU curve, keep an eye out for Supergirl next year—and be ready to embrace the wild, irreverent spirit Jason Momoa brings to the universe’s roughest bounty hunter.
