Angelina Jolie and Brad Pitt’s youngest daughter, Vivienne Jolie-Pitt, is stepping confidently into her own at just 16 years old. Over the weekend, Vivienne was spotted out and about in New York City, marking a rare public appearance that caught fans’ attention — showing just how much she has grown.

Vivienne looked effortlessly chic, sporting a sleek shoulder-length blonde bob with curtain bangs that framed her face beautifully. Her casual yet stylish outfit featured an oversized white T-shirt paired with beige pants and classic white sneakers — the perfect look for a hot summer day. She carried a large water bottle and some seltzer cans, clearly on the move and ready to socialize in the city.

Though she primarily lives in Los Angeles with her mother and siblings, Vivienne’s NYC outing was likely connected to her brother Pax, 21, who resides in Angelina’s old New York apartment as he pursues his career in the arts. Angelina has previously revealed that Pax’s apartment, which she purchased in her twenties, has become a “crash pad” for the Jolie-Pitt clan whenever they visit the East Coast. Sharing a humorous anecdote with The New York Times, Angelina recalled Pax asking for a day to tidy up before her visit — a gesture she both appreciated and teased about.

Vivienne is carving her own path in the entertainment world, already showing impressive initiative behind the scenes. She recently co-produced the Tony Award-winning play The Outsiders in 2024 alongside her mother. Angelina shared with Deadline how deeply the production impacted Vivienne, especially after seeing the play multiple times at La Jolla Playhouse. “My daughter Viv loves theater. She appreciates all theater but she certainly knows what she feels close to and what she responds to,” Angelina said. Watching Vivienne’s connection to the material offered Angelina a profound insight into her daughter’s evolving perspective and emotional maturity.

The family’s personal dynamics, however, remain complex. Vivienne has reportedly distanced herself from her father, Brad Pitt, even dropping his last name when listed in the playbill for The Outsiders. She is following in the footsteps of her sister Shiloh, who legally removed Pitt from her last name upon turning 18. Their sister Zahara also publicly dropped Pitt’s last name during a college event earlier this year.

Angelina and Brad’s protracted divorce battle, which concluded in December 2024 after eight years of legal disputes over custody and their shared French vineyard, has cast a long shadow over the family’s public life. Despite the challenges, Angelina and her children appear focused on building their individual futures.

Vivienne’s emerging independence in the vibrant backdrop of New York City signals a fresh chapter for the youngest Jolie-Pitt, as she steps out from the shadow of her famous parents and begins to write her own story.
