Mark Wahlberg has always been game for a laugh, but even he wasn’t expecting to start the first day of filming Me Time in his birthday suit. The 2022 Netflix comedy, directed by John Hamburg and co-starring Kevin Hart, threw Wahlberg a curveball when a seemingly standard reunion scene was rewritten into a bold—and hilarious—nude moment at the very last minute.

Speaking to multiple entertainment outlets, Wahlberg recalled how the scene, in which his character Huck hugs Kevin Hart’s Sonny from behind while completely naked, was not originally in the script. The change came at Hart’s suggestion, who also served as a producer on the film. Director Hamburg broke the news with a mix of humor and diplomacy, telling Wahlberg that the setting was beautiful—the Long Beach marina—but that he’d need to strip down “literally five minutes” after arriving on set.

“I was a little trepidatious,” Wahlberg admitted, noting that the scene had not been part of his original contract. Still, he embraced the challenge, spending over 12 hours on set wearing nothing but sneakers, surrounded by a 200-person crew and 100 extras. Despite the initial surprise, Wahlberg’s professionalism earned praise from the director and co-stars, with Hamburg calling him a “great sport.”

The moment wasn’t just for laughs on set—it became a standout in the film’s promotional trailer. The brief exchange between the two leads—Hart’s character offering a towel and Wahlberg’s now-iconic deadpan response, “No, I’m good”—perfectly captured the duo’s comedic chemistry and set the tone for the film’s irreverent humor.

Wahlberg, no stranger to comedy thanks to hits like Ted and The Other Guys, had been eager to collaborate with Hart for years, pitching ideas until Me Time finally brought them together. While the scene was a surprise, it’s now part of the film’s legacy, still streaming for Netflix audiences as of 2025.

And for Wahlberg? Just another day at the office—albeit one that started with far less wardrobe than usual.
