Johnny Depp Reveals Why Living Next to Liam Gallagher Would Be a ‘Nightmare’ – No Disrespect!

Johnny Depp and Liam Gallagher have always shared a reputation for their wild, rock ‘n’ roll lifestyles. In the 1990s, they were two of the most infamous hellraisers in Hollywood and Britpop circles, and their partying exploits were the stuff of legend. When the two reunited at Glastonbury in 2017 after years apart, their reunion was met with excitement, as fans recalled the chaos that once followed their every move. However, despite their close friendship and shared love of excess, Depp recently revealed that he wouldn’t want to live next door to Gallagher — and he’s got a good reason for it.

In the height of Oasis’ fame, the relationship between Depp and Gallagher seemed unstoppable. The Edward Scissorhands star, already well-established in Hollywood, was a guest on Oasis’ 1997 album Be Here Now, playing slide guitar on the track “Fade In-Out.” His collaboration with the band, which boasted two of the most talked-about musicians of the ’90s, cemented their bond. As Noel Gallagher put it, “If he hadn’t been around, we’d have had to get some fat old geezer who’d be telling us about how he played with Clapton in ’76.” The mutual admiration between Depp and Gallagher was undeniable, with their friendship fueled by their shared passion for living on the edge.

Despite their legendary bond, Depp recently debunked the rumor that he once wanted to live next door to Gallagher in London. When asked about it in an interview with The Guardian, Depp admitted that while the idea might have seemed plausible years ago, it wasn’t something he’d pursue now. “Ten or 12 years ago, that might have been true. No disrespect to Liam, but I don’t think he’s the guy I want for my neighbor, and I guarantee he wouldn’t want me,” Depp said.

This statement raised eyebrows, especially considering the duo’s antics, which haven’t exactly slowed down with age. In fact, when they reunited at Glastonbury in 2017, Gallagher joked about the two indulging in a bit of casual narcotics during the event, all while Depp met his children. “We were in a fucking teepee. For fucking ages,” Gallagher said, highlighting their enduring penchant for rebellion.

Despite still sharing a love for the excesses of life, Depp’s reluctance to have Gallagher as a neighbor was more about maintaining a sense of mystery than avoiding the chaos. “I like London, but if I lived there,” Depp mused, “for an outsider like me, it would lose the magic.” His desire to keep the city an elusive, fascinating place for his wandering spirit seemed to trump any potential camaraderie with Gallagher in a close-knit neighborhood.

The contrast between Depp’s desire for the mysterious and Gallagher’s unapologetic, in-your-face personality underlines why the two are such an iconic pair but ultimately, perhaps, not cut out to live next door to each other. While they may have bonded over the years as partners in excess and laughter, Depp’s comment reveals how both men have evolved—albeit in different ways—and underscores how some friendships are best kept at a distance.
