Old habits die hard, especially for Bruce Willis and Demi Moore’s three daughters—Rumer, Scout, and Tallulah. The sisters, now all adults, have kept one childhood tradition intact, much to the surprise of some. Rumer Willis, 36, recently shared on the What in the Winkler?! podcast that she and her sisters still take baths together, even as grown women.
“We all still take baths together, my sisters and I,” Rumer confessed during the episode. “And that’s just the kind of house that I grew up in.” She acknowledged that some might find the practice unusual, but she defended it with a sense of comfort, saying, “People might think that’s crazy and weird, but I don’t.”
Rumer’s revelation sheds light on the closeness between the Willis sisters, who have maintained strong family bonds into adulthood. Despite their public personas, the Willis family continues to embrace the traditions and rituals that shaped their childhood. Alongside Rumer, her younger sisters Scout (33) and Tallulah (31) also share in this cherished family custom.
The conversation about family rituals came up as Rumer discussed her own parenting experiences. She revealed that she co-sleeps with her 23-month-old daughter, Louetta, and hopes that Lou will continue to sleep with her as she grows older. “I still sleep in bed with my mom,” Rumer said, referencing her Oscar-nominated mother, Demi Moore, and reinforcing the bond between them.
Rumer’s reflections on her upbringing with Moore and Willis also highlight the solid foundation her parents created despite their divorce. “Even when they split up, they created such a beautiful foundation of prioritizing my sisters and I,” Rumer said in an earlier interview on Loose Women. She emphasized that her parents never put her or her sisters in the position of having to choose sides, which has influenced how she co-parents her own daughter with ex Derek Richard Thomas.
“Not only did I feel like that has set me up in my life to have such a beautiful foundation of my own family, but now, as I’m working through co-parenting as well, I feel deep gratitude for the example they’ve set,” Rumer added.
Rumer gave birth to Louetta in April 2023, her first child with Thomas, and has been vocal about how she applies the lessons from her parents’ relationship to her own life. She credits the healthy, non-combative relationship between Moore and Willis for helping her create a balanced environment for her own daughter.
Bruce Willis and Demi Moore, who married in 1987, ended their marriage in 1998, but their commitment to co-parenting has remained a central theme in their family’s dynamic. Willis, now married to Emma Heming, shares two daughters with her, Mabel (12) and Evelyn (10).
Despite their separate lives, the Willis family continues to maintain strong, meaningful connections, with Rumer and her sisters exemplifying the close-knit, supportive family unit that their parents have worked to preserve.
