1923, the hit Yellowstone prequel, is proving to be even more popular in its second season. Paramount Global recently announced that Season 2 has achieved a remarkable 56% increase in viewers compared to Season 1 at the same point in its run.

The Season 2 premiere, which debuted on February 23, quickly drew in 17 million viewers worldwide, a 41% jump over the first season’s premiere. Even more impressive, the episode garnered 5.4 million viewers on its debut day alone—an increase of 146% from Season 1’s initial launch. These numbers have continued to rise, tripling since the premiere aired.

The show’s appeal is largely driven by its compelling storyline and star-studded cast. Harrison Ford and Helen Mirren lead as Jacob and Cara Dutton, facing harsh winter conditions and adversaries determined to destroy their Montana ranch. Meanwhile, their nephew Spencer (played by Brandon Sklenar) undertakes a perilous journey home, while his love interest Alexandra (Julia Schlaepfer) crosses the Atlantic to reunite with him. The ensemble cast also features Timothy Dalton, Jennifer Carpenter, and Jerome Flynn, adding even more depth to the drama.

Created by Taylor Sheridan, the mastermind behind Yellowstone, 1923 has captivated audiences with its gripping narrative and sweeping visuals. Each episode reveals new challenges for the Dutton family, with Paramount+ releasing one episode every Sunday. This season includes eight episodes in total, and data from the first four have shown consistently strong growth. Episode 5 is set to drop on March 23, and anticipation is high as fans continue to tune in.

Although Paramount has not detailed exactly how they measure viewership, the significant growth in numbers clearly highlights Season 2’s success. With the show maintaining such momentum, it’s clear that 1923 has firmly cemented its place in the Yellowstone universe as a must-watch series.
