Mariah Carey Celebrates Halloween in Japan with Twins Moroccan and Monroe — and Their Costumes Steal the Spotlight

Mariah Carey is ringing in Halloween overseas — and she’s doing it with the two people who seem to be enjoying the season right along with her: her twins Moroccan and Monroe.

On Tuesday, the music icon shared a photo on Instagram from Tokyo, giving fans a glimpse of their festive costumes during a family Halloween celebration abroad.

A Kawaii-Inspired Look… and Matching Kigurumi for the Kids

Carey, 56, leaned fully into Japanese pop culture style for the night — wearing a white-and-blue dress paired with bright pink hair in high ponytails, topped with bows. Her look blended elements of Kawaii fashion, the pastel-forward style that has become synonymous with Japan’s colorful youth culture.

Her twins — both now 14 — each went with cozy, playful kigurumi onesies.
Monroe wore a bright yellow version, while Moroccan chose a baby-blue look.

Carey captioned the moment simply:

“Happy Halloween from Japan!!! 👻🇯🇵”

The Family Dynamic Fans Know — and Love

Carey — who shares Moroccan and Monroe with former husband Nick Cannon — has never been shy about including her kids in her celebrations, holidays, or family adventures.

But that doesn’t mean the twins always love being on camera.

Earlier this year, the singer posted Easter photos on Instagram — only for her children to jump into the comments with humorous protest.

“Why do you do this to me mom,” Moroccan wrote.
Monroe chimed in with: “OMG DELETE IT.”

It’s not the only playful moment fans have seen recently.
In April, Carey and Monroe accidentally interrupted Moroccan mid-stream while he was gaming live on Twitch — resulting in a flurry of laughs, a flustered teen, and a cheerful “Hi, you guys!” from Carey before she stepped away.

Creativity May Run in the Family

While stopping by The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon, Carey recently shared that Monroe has been showing interest in music.

“My daughter’s into music, and she likes music,” Carey said, hinting that Monroe may be testing out her own creative path.

Carey — who has famously taken the stage with her daughter during previous Christmas tours — said she’s encouraging her to find her own lane, if and when she’s ready.

Halloween Abroad — A Family Memory in the Making

Mariah Carey is known for turning holidays into entire atmospheres — especially Christmas — but this year, Halloween is getting its share of family spotlight.

Tokyo, kigurumi costumes, candy-colored hair, and a global superstar embracing a local style?

For Carey and her twins — it’s a Halloween snapshot fans weren’t expecting, but one that fits the singer’s love of festive joy perfectly.

And judging by the matching onesies and that pink hair?

Several million followers may now be wishing Japan was on their Halloween itinerary.
