Brad Pitt to Sell $5.5 Million L.A. Home Following Burglary Incident

Los Angeles, CA — Brad Pitt is parting ways with his Los Angeles residence, a property he purchased just over two years ago, PEOPLE confirms.

The Oscar-winning actor, 61, has listed the home—known as The Steel House—in an off-market sale. TMZ was first to report the move. Pitt originally acquired the midcentury modern property in 2023 for $5.5 million.

A Midcentury Gem

Built in 1960, the 2,100-square-foot home sits in Los Feliz and features hallmark elements of midcentury architecture. With three bedrooms and two bathrooms, the design emphasizes openness and connection to nature. Expansive glass walls offer sweeping views of the city, while others frame the lush greenery surrounding the property.

Sliding glass doors open to a spacious terrace and pool, blending indoor and outdoor living. Amenities include a cold plunge and a garden sauna, adding a spa-like retreat feel to the home.

Burglary Earlier This Summer

The sale comes just months after the residence was burglarized in June. According to the Los Angeles Police Department, the incident occurred on June 25 around 10:30 p.m., when suspects forced entry through a front window. They ransacked the home before fleeing with stolen property.

Pitt was not home at the time. Following an investigation, two 18-year-olds, Jaquory Arman Watson and Damari Zair Charles, were arrested on August 11. Authorities charged them with first-degree burglary and a sentencing enhancement for allegedly acting in concert. Police also linked the pair to other break-ins across Southern California, including one in Orange County earlier in August.

Sale Already in Motion

Sources close to Pitt indicate that the burglary was not the reason for the sale. Plans to list the property were already underway before the break-in occurred.

This latest move is one of several recent real estate decisions made by the actor, who has long been active in property investment.

Would you like me to make this piece more tabloid-style and entertainment-focused (with dramatic flair), or more businesslike and real estate–oriented for a property market readership?
