Fans of the gritty crime drama MobLand find themselves in a suspenseful wait as Paramount+ has yet to announce whether the series will be renewed for a second season. Since the Season 1 finale aired nearly a month ago, audiences have eagerly searched for news on the show’s future, hoping to see more of the Ronan Bennett-created drama starring heavyweights Tom Hardy, Pierce Brosnan, and Helen Mirren.

Speaking recently with ScreenRant, series star Joanne Froggatt expressed cautious optimism about the show’s continuation. “We’re just hopeful. We’ll keep our fingers crossed. Obviously, nothing’s official yet, so yeah, we’re just very hopeful to be able to carry on the story for sure. I’d love to,” she said, reflecting the uncertainty that still surrounds the show’s renewal.

MobLand has earned mostly positive reviews, holding a 75% critics’ approval rating on Rotten Tomatoes and a slightly higher 77% audience score. The series quickly gained traction on Paramount+, known for housing Taylor Sheridan’s acclaimed productions like Yellowstone and Lioness. While Sheridan isn’t involved in MobLand, the show’s similar tone and style have helped it establish a solid foothold with viewers.

Pierce Brosnan, who delivers a standout performance in the series, recently shared with Collider his laid-back approach to the uncertain future. “I honestly don’t know what’s going to happen. I have some ideas in my head, but I have not expressed those to Guy Ritchie or to Jez Butterworth or Ronan Bennett, who are the writers. I have no idea. I mean, I didn’t know going in last time, so there’s a part of me that’s quite happy to let it all just unfold before me. Right now, I’m just feeding the chickens, I’m painting, I’m golfing, and that’s what I do — enjoying life,” he revealed, signaling a relaxed attitude despite potential new commitments.

Producer Jez Butterworth also weighed in, telling the New York Post, “If it’s doing that — fascinating and delighting and stimulating an audience — then long may it continue,” suggesting that the show’s fate will hinge on viewer engagement and demand.

For now, MobLand fans will have to keep their fingers crossed as the streaming giant weighs the next move. Meanwhile, Season 1 remains available for streaming on Paramount+, allowing new viewers to catch up on the crime saga that has captivated many.

Season 1 of MobLand is currently streaming on Paramount+.
