“No Sissy Stuff!” – Rumer Willis Channels Bruce in Gritty, Slap-Filled Western Debut

Rumer Willis, daughter of Hollywood icons Bruce Willis and Demi Moore, is stepping squarely into the family business—and she’s doing it with grit, guts, and a nod to the action pedigree that made her father a legend. With her new western, Trail of Vengeance, Rumer is proving that she’s more than ready to hold her own in the rough-and-tumble world of big-screen brawls and high-stakes heroics.
Speaking with “Extra’s” Billy Bush, Rumer revealed just how determined she was to honor her dad’s action star legacy. “When I’m on the sets, especially doing any sort of like physical stuff, I pulled the stunt guy Dale aside and I was like, ‘Listen, you need to show me how to make this look good because I’ve got a big-time legacy right here to make sure that I live up to, so none of this, like, sissy stuff.’” She laughed, recalling how fight scenes became a set running joke—“We would joke on set about how much I get slapped around in this movie. It’s very aggressive.” But the challenge only left her feeling empowered: “I felt really empowered,” Rumer said, adding she can’t wait to show the film to her father, star of Die Hard and The Fifth Element.
And how is Bruce, as he continues his battle with dementia? “He’s great. He’s really good,” Rumer reassured fans, making it clear she’s “absolutely” planning to spend Father’s Day by his side.
It’s not just dad’s legacy lighting the way—mom Demi Moore is experiencing her own career renaissance, earning an Oscar nomination for her fearless role in The Substance. Rumer can’t help but gush: “To sit there and watch her get acknowledgment, not only from her peers but just this industry and people as a whole, I think, was so lovely, not only as her daughter but also as a peer and an actor as well because she’s incredible. She’s so talented.” Moore, Rumer says, is living proof that “you have to always keep going.”
The same can be said for Rumer herself, who faced doubts about balancing motherhood and acting just before she landed her starring role. “I’m a mom. Is this, am I still supposed to be doing this?” she asked herself. But one audition changed everything: “I could really do this well, and I got really excited. And I found out that I got it and I was just over the moon. I just wanted to put all of myself into it.”
Now, with two-year-old daughter Louetta at home—whom she describes as “so smart and funny and kind and wonderful”—Rumer is relishing her role as mom just as much as her role as action star. “Her language is off the charts… It’s, like, my favorite part of my life.”
With Trail of Vengeance in select theaters and on demand May 23, Rumer Willis is carving out her own legacy—proving that courage, determination, and family spirit run strong in the Willis-Moore clan.
