Tom Cruise Calls Ana de Armas’ ‘Ballerina’ a Total Game-Changer — Here’s Why Their Next Collaborations Are Already Buzzing!

Tom Cruise is no stranger to action blockbusters or sharing the spotlight with Hollywood’s brightest stars. But at the London premiere of Mission: Impossible – The Final Reckoning, it was Cruise, 62, who turned heads with his enthusiastic endorsement of Ana de Armas’ upcoming action thriller Ballerina, a spinoff set in the electrifying universe of John Wick.

In a video shared to Instagram, Cruise is seen chatting with Spanish producer and actor Javier Ibarreche. When the topic of de Armas’ latest film arose, Cruise’s excitement was unmistakable: “I just saw the movie—it kicks ass,” he declared with a wide grin, lending his legendary approval to the new chapter in the John Wick saga.

Cruise didn’t stop there. The action icon also gave a shoutout to his Interview with the Vampire co-star Brad Pitt, calling Pitt’s upcoming Formula 1 film, F1, “a fun movie.” As Pitt gears up to play a fictional ex-driver making a comeback on the racing circuit, it’s clear that Hollywood’s leading men are rooting for one another both on and off the screen.

But perhaps the biggest news for fans came not from Cruise, but from de Armas herself. The 37-year-old actress appeared on Good Morning America on May 15 and, after being pressed by co-host Michael Strahan, confirmed the rumors that she and Cruise have more than just friendly outings in the works. “We’re definitely working on a lot of things. Not just one but a few projects with Doug Liman and Christopher McQuarrie and, of course, Tom. And I’m so excited,” de Armas shared, hinting at a slate of high-octane collaborations.

The mention of Liman and McQuarrie is significant. Both filmmakers have a long history with Cruise—Liman directed him in Edge of Tomorrow and American Made, while McQuarrie has been a driving force behind the Mission: Impossible series and penned the script for Edge of Tomorrow. With these heavyweights attached, whatever de Armas and Cruise have brewing is sure to be ambitious.

The rumors of collaboration first began swirling back in February, when Cruise and de Armas were spotted out for dinner with their respective agents in London. According to sources, the meeting was all business, focusing on potential future projects. Since then, the two Oscar nominees have been seen together frequently, including a leisurely stroll through a London park on de Armas’ 37th birthday and, more recently, sharing a car ride after David Beckham’s star-studded 50th birthday bash.

Their easy camaraderie and frequent public appearances have only intensified speculation about their on-screen partnership. As the industry buzzes about what this dynamic duo might deliver, one thing is clear: Cruise’s endorsement has already raised expectations for Ballerina, which opens in theaters June 4, and for any future ventures he and de Armas tackle together.

Meanwhile, Cruise’s own Mission: Impossible – The Final Reckoning is set to hit theaters May 23, proving that even as he passes the torch to a new generation of action stars, Tom Cruise remains at the very heart of Hollywood’s most exhilarating stories.
