Anticipation for Brad Pitt’s upcoming Formula One movie, F1, continues to build, and now one of Hollywood’s biggest stars, Tom Cruise, has voiced his support. In a recent interview, Cruise praised Pitt’s driving abilities, reminiscing about their time together on the set of Interview with the Vampire.

“[Brad’s] a very good driver,” Cruise shared. “I’ve raced against him…we’d literally finish shooting and go race go-carts.”

The high-profile endorsement isn’t the only buzz surrounding F1. Director Joseph Kosinski recently revealed that the actors piloted real race cars on authentic Formula One tracks. “It was actually Toto [Wolff] who came up with the idea of… taking a real race car,” Kosinski said. Mercedes AMG worked closely with the production to modify six F2 cars, outfitting them with specialized camera rigs, transmitters, and recorders to capture the action.

“When you see Brad or Damson [Idris] driving in the movie, they’re driving on their own in one of these real race cars on a real F1 track,” Kosinski confirmed.

As excitement mounts for the film’s release on June 25, the combination of star power, cutting-edge filmmaking, and authentic racing action has fans eagerly awaiting Brad Pitt’s latest cinematic outing.
