Harrison Ford was seen in public for the first time since news of his shingles diagnosis broke. The iconic actor was photographed piloting his plane into LAX Airport on Sunday, March 30, looking calm and collected despite his recent health concerns. Wearing a blue button-down shirt, dark denim jeans, and black oxford shoes, Ford completed his look with sunglasses as he disembarked from the plane holding a briefcase.

The sighting comes after Ford, 82, was diagnosed with shingles in late February. Entertainment Weekly first reported the news, adding that the Star Wars legend was resting and recovering at the time. While Ford has not yet publicly commented on his diagnosis, his appearance suggests he is slowly regaining his strength. According to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), shingles is a painful rash caused by the reactivation of the varicella-zoster virus (VZV), the same virus that causes chickenpox. Symptoms of the illness include itchy, painful blisters, often found on one side of the body, and can last between three to five weeks.

Ford’s shingles diagnosis kept him from attending the Oscars in March, a notable absence considering his long career in Hollywood. Though the actor has remained private about his experience with the illness, the public outing suggests that Ford is well on the path to recovery.

In addition to his health update, Ford’s fans can look forward to his upcoming work. He is set to appear in the highly anticipated season finale of 1923, the prequel to Yellowstone. The show, which airs its second season finale on Sunday, April 6, features Ford as Jacob Dutton, the patriarch of the Dutton family. Ford’s character is the older brother of Tim McGraw’s character from the 1883 spinoff. Helen Mirren stars alongside Ford as his wife, Cara Dutton. The show’s ensemble cast also includes Brandon Sklenar, Julia Schlaepfer, Jerome Flynn, and Darren Mann.

Ford also recently starred in Captain America: Brave New World, where he took over the role of Thaddeus Ross from the late William Hurt. The film, released on February 14, marked a significant milestone in Ford’s career as he stepped into a major role in the Marvel Cinematic Universe.

As Ford continues his recovery, fans are eager to see him return to the screen in these exciting upcoming projects. While he has remained tight-lipped about his shingles diagnosis, his public appearance signals that the actor is back on his feet and ready to take on new challenges, both in his personal life and his illustrious career.
