Amazon MGM has officially named Amy Pascal and David Heyman as producers for the next James Bond film, marking a historic change in the 007 franchise’s long-standing production tradition. The new film will be the first in the series to be produced by someone outside the Broccoli family, whose involvement with Bond dates back to its cinematic beginnings in the early 1960s.

Pascal, through Pascal Pictures, and Heyman, via Heyday Films, bring a wealth of blockbuster experience to the table. Pascal has been a key figure behind the Spider-Man franchise, which has grossed more than $3 billion globally with Tom Holland in the lead role. Heyman, meanwhile, has overseen the Harry Potter and Fantastic Beasts series, elevating both properties to worldwide commercial and critical success. This powerhouse duo is expected to shepherd James Bond into a new era under Amazon MGM’s stewardship.

Their selection follows a recent deal in which Amazon MGM reached an agreement with longtime Bond producers Barbara Broccoli and Michael G. Wilson. The move to appoint Pascal and Heyman signals a deliberate attempt to carry forward the iconic franchise while exploring new creative horizons. While it remains unclear if Pascal and Heyman will produce additional Bond films after this installment, their initial involvement sets a high bar for the future.

In an official statement, Amazon MGM’s head of film, Courtenay Valenti, praised the duo’s credentials: “We are approaching every creative decision with James Bond, which Barbara Broccoli and Michael G. Wilson have so masterfully steered, with the greatest sense of responsibility. Part of an elite group of producers who have developed and managed massive film franchises to box office success and critical acclaim, Amy Pascal and David Heyman are two of the most accomplished, experienced, and respected film producers in our industry.”

Pascal and Heyman also expressed their gratitude and enthusiasm for the opportunity in a joint statement: “James Bond is one of the most iconic characters in the history of cinema. We are humbled to follow in the footsteps of Barbara Broccoli and Michael Wilson, who made so many extraordinary films, and honored and excited to keep the spirit of Bond very much alive as he embarks on his next adventure.”

Although details about the next Bond film—such as casting or release dates—are still under wraps, the appointment of Pascal and Heyman reassures fans that the franchise is in capable hands. With their combined expertise in steering globally beloved franchises to success, the next chapter in James Bond’s storied history is already shaping up to be an exciting new mission.
