Matthew Stafford, the celebrated quarterback for the Los Angeles Rams, has made an impressive real estate move, purchasing a luxurious $28 million mansion once owned by pop icon Jennifer Lopez. The sprawling estate, located in the prestigious Hidden Hills neighborhood of California, marks a significant addition to Stafford’s property portfolio.
The 37-year-old NFL star, who spent 11 years with the Detroit Lions before joining the Rams in 2021, has enjoyed a successful career that includes winning his first Super Bowl in his debut season with Los Angeles. Stafford’s current four-year contract, worth $140 million, reflects his continued success on the field, and over the past 16 years, it’s estimated that he’s earned more than $364 million.

With his considerable earnings, Stafford and his wife Kelly, along with their four children, purchased the stunning property in 2023. The mansion spans an impressive 17,000 square feet and boasts nine bedrooms, 12 bathrooms, and a host of high-end amenities, including dance and recording studios, a 20-seat theater, and a bar. Outside, the estate offers a luxurious swimming pool, spa, and an outdoor kitchen perfect for entertaining.
But Stafford’s connection to the Hidden Hills neighborhood doesn’t stop there. The family also owns the house next door, which they purchased in 2022 for $10.5 million. This neighborhood has become a hotspot for celebrities, with stars like Kylie Jenner, Kim Kardashian, Miley Cyrus, and Jessica Simpson also calling it home.

The mansion itself has quite the history. Prior to Stafford’s purchase, Lopez owned the property, selling it for $10 million in 2017. The home’s opulence and celebrity connection make it a standout in the high-end real estate market.
While Stafford is making waves off the field with his real estate ventures, he’s also preparing for another season with the Rams. In a recent interview on the New Heights podcast with Jason and Travis Kelce, Stafford addressed rumors of retirement, confirming that he plans to continue playing in the 2025 NFL season and possibly beyond. “I’m going to be here at least another year, and hopefully some after that,” Stafford said, referring to his current contract discussions.
Stafford’s career has been marked by remarkable achievements, including two Pro Bowl selections and impressive statistics with over 59,000 passing yards and 377 touchdowns. His victory in Super Bowl LVI in 2021, where he led the Rams to a 23-20 win over the Cincinnati Bengals, remains one of his most significant milestones. While wide receiver Cooper Kupp earned the MVP award for his stellar performance in the game, Stafford’s contributions were vital to the Rams’ first Super Bowl win in over two decades.
As Stafford looks ahead to the 2025 season and beyond, his focus remains on building his legacy both on the field and off, making his $28 million mansion a fitting symbol of his continued success.
