Blake Lively has made her highly anticipated return to the spotlight, this time at the premiere of Another Simple Favor during the SXSW festival in Austin, Texas. Despite the backdrop of a headline-grabbing legal dispute involving It Ends With Us director Justin Baldoni, the actress took a moment to express her heartfelt gratitude for the support of her fans.
On March 11, Lively took to Instagram to share her excitement and appreciation for the incredible audience at the premiere, calling the experience “a rock concert.” She wrote, “Watching @asimplefavor opening night @sxsw felt like a rock concert. Thank you to the very best audience. Texas turns it out. Making this movie was already the gift, every element of it. To share it with you all and feel the love returned to us was the best feeling. Thank you for having us Austin.”
In true Lively style, she also offered a playful insight into her fashion for the event, cheekily adding, “And yes. It’s latex.” Her lighthearted and gracious posts painted a picture of an actress who is not only thankful but also thoroughly enjoying the moment.
The 37-year-old actress, who shares her four children—James (10), Inez (8), Betty (5), and Olin (2)—with husband Ryan Reynolds, continued to share her gratitude with multiple follow-up posts from her time in Austin. “Final Austin roundup for @asimplefavor,” she shared, adding, “I know how fortunate I am to work with each of you. Thank you to my friends and loved ones for making this weekend so special. Ok. Back to sweatpants now. That was fun.”
In another post, Lively gave fans a glimpse of her family life, sharing a humorous moment involving her children. “You kid forgets their shoes, but you have yours on,” she wrote, alongside a photo of her wearing takeout bags as shoes. “So naturally, you give them yours, then you mom hack. Paper bags. No shoes. No problem.” It was a lighthearted moment that captured Lively’s ability to balance her busy career with the everyday joys of motherhood.
These heartwarming posts come at a time when Lively has been embroiled in a legal battle with Baldoni, the director of It Ends With Us. Last December, Lively filed a legal complaint, accusing the director of loss of wages and sexual harassment on the set of the Colleen Hoover adaptation. This was followed by an official lawsuit later that month. In response, Baldoni filed a countersuit against Lively, her husband Ryan Reynolds, their publicist, and even a separate lawsuit against the New York Times for publishing details of Lively’s initial complaint.
Despite the ongoing legal tension, Lively’s posts from SXSW showcase a more playful and reflective side of the actress, with her gratitude and humor shining through. Fans can rest assured that, while Lively faces challenges behind the scenes, her dedication to her work and her family remains unwavering.
