A highly anticipated crime drama is on the horizon as Paramount+ with Showtime unveils the first images from MobLand, Guy Ritchie’s latest series. Featuring an all-star cast led by Tom Hardy, Pierce Brosnan, and Helen Mirren, the series promises a gripping look at London’s underworld, centered around two warring crime families.

The first-look images, exclusively revealed by People, offer fans their initial glimpse of Hardy in his role as Harry Da Souza, a fiercely loyal fixer who is charged with protecting the powerful Harrigan family. Hardy’s portrayal appears intense and determined, embodying the character’s commitment to his role within the dangerous world of organized crime. Brosnan, taking on the role of Conrad Harrigan, plays the head of a successful Irish crime family based in London, while Mirren stars as Maeve Harrigan, Conrad’s wife, and the matriarch of the Harrigan empire.

The series, originally conceived as an offshoot of Showtime’s long-running drama Ray Donovan, was reworked into a standalone project by November 2024. While it shares some thematic elements with its predecessor, MobLand follows its own unique narrative, exploring the conflict between two crime families whose operations span the globe. The official description reveals the central plot of the series, which revolves around a fiercely loyal fixer, Harry Da Souza, who will do whatever it takes to protect the Harrigans, even at the cost of his own life.

In addition to the star-studded leads, the MobLand cast also includes a number of talented actors. Paddy Considine joins the ensemble as Kevin Harrigan, Conrad’s son, while Lara Pulver plays his wife, Bella. The couple’s rebellious son, Eddie, is portrayed by Anson Boon, and Joanne Froggat takes on the role of Harry’s wife, Jan Da Souza. Other notable cast members include Alex Fine as Harry’s adversary, Donnie, Geoff Bell as Richie, leader of a south London gang, and Lisa Dwan as O’Hara, the Harrigan family’s lawyer.

Filming for MobLand began in November 2024 in London, with Guy Ritchie directing most of the one-hour episodes. Ritchie, known for his work on Lock, Stock and Two Smoking Barrels, Snatch, and The Gentlemen, also serves as an executive producer alongside an impressive team, including Hardy, Nina L. Diaz, and David C. Glasser. MobLand is produced in association with MTV Entertainment Studios and 101 Studios and is distributed by Paramount Global Content Distribution.

This new venture marks Ritchie’s return to television following his successful adaptation of The Gentlemen into a Netflix series, which has already been renewed for a second season. Ritchie is also preparing to direct Young Sherlock, a Prime Video series that will explore a teenage version of the legendary detective.

With MobLand set to premiere soon, excitement is already building for this gritty crime drama, fueled by its all-star cast, talented creators, and Ritchie’s signature style of storytelling. As the series prepares to dive into the world of organized crime, viewers can expect thrilling action, complex characters, and the dark humor that Ritchie is known for.
