Tom Holland Says His Fourth Spider-Man Movie “Feels Different” — New Suit, Star-Studded Cast, and Fans on Set

After three blockbuster outings as Marvel’s friendly neighborhood Spider-Man, you might expect Tom Holland to feel at home in the red-and-blue suit. But as filming kicks off for Spider-Man: Brand New Day, the actor says stepping into the role this time has a new kind of magic.

In a behind-the-scenes Instagram video posted Sunday, Holland shared his “day one” on set for the fourth Sony/Marvel Spider-Man film, calling the experience “different” and “really exciting.”

“My fourth ever day one on Spider-Man,” Holland said in the clip. “You know, it’s funny putting the suit on. It feels different this time somehow. It’s also the first time we’ve ever had fans on set for day one. So, it’s really exciting to share this with them.”

Holland, now 28, admitted there’s still pressure — even after years in the role. “I’m just going to do my best. Hopefully get it right. No pressure,” he joked.

A New Look for a New Era

Fans have already spotted changes to Holland’s web-slinger wardrobe. On Aug. 3, he revealed the redesigned Spider-Man costume, which features a larger spider emblem on the chest compared to previous appearances in Homecoming (2017), Far From Home (2019), and No Way Home (2021).

Filming has also brought Holland back into the stunt-heavy action he’s known for. After completing one take in the Instagram video, he grinned and said, “Wow, that was a really good one. That felt sick.”

Big Names Joining the Web

Brand New Day is already shaping up to be one of Spider-Man’s most ambitious adventures yet. Mark Ruffalo will return as Bruce Banner/The Hulk, Michael Mando is back as Mac Gargan/The Scorpion, and Jon Bernthal reprises his role as Frank Castle/The Punisher. Rising star Sadie Sink has also joined the cast in an undisclosed role.

Directed by Destin Daniel Cretton (Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings), the film’s script comes from returning writers Chris McKenna and Erik Sommers.

What We Know So Far

Plot details are being kept tightly under wraps, but the story will pick up after the events of No Way Home (2021), which ended with Peter Parker’s identity erased from the world’s memory — including his closest friends and MJ (Zendaya).

For Holland, Brand New Day is more than just another sequel. It’s a chance to reintroduce Spider-Man in a new light, with a fresh suit, a bigger cast, and — for the first time — fans watching from the sidelines as the story begins.

Or as Holland put it: “It feels different this time somehow.”

If you want, I can also create a fan-focused breakdown of all the major changes spotted in the new Spider-Man suit compared to the previous three films — perfect for a visual sidebar in a news feature. Would you like me to do that?
