Jennifer Lopez Keeps Her Cool as Grasshopper Crashes Kazakhstan Concert

Not even an unexpected brush with nature could throw Jennifer Lopez off her game.
The 56-year-old superstar was in the middle of a high-energy performance at Kazakhstan’s Central Stadium in Almaty on Sunday when a grasshopper crawled onto her neck. Instead of panicking, Lopez flashed a quick smile, kept singing, and powered through the song before casually swatting the uninvited guest away.

Video posted to her Instagram shows the moment unfold — the insect inching its way up her plunging halter top as the crowd roared. “It was tickling me!” Lopez laughed afterward, drawing applause from fans. She captioned the clip with tongue-in-cheek flair: “Plot twist: @JLo just started rehearsals for Kiss of the Cricket Woman… on stage… in real time.”
The pop icon is nearing the end of her 21-date Up All Night: Live in 2025 tour, which wraps Tuesday at Italy’s Hotel Cala di Volpe in Sardinia. She will then shift gears to a 12-date Las Vegas residency at Caesars Palace’s The Colosseum starting December 30.
It’s been a whirlwind year for Lopez, whose career has spanned music, film, television, and fashion. Alongside her tour, she has been promoting multiple acting projects, including the upcoming $30 million musical Kiss of the Spider Woman, set for an October 10 release. She will also star in Robert Zemeckis’ adaptation of The Last Mrs. Parrish for Netflix.
The singer’s personal life has also made headlines, with her February divorce from actor-director Ben Affleck and the couple’s ongoing efforts to sell their $68 million Beverly Hills estate. Lopez shares 17-year-old twins Maximilian and Emme with ex-husband Marc Anthony.
But if Sunday’s performance proved anything, it’s that Lopez remains the consummate professional — glamorous, unshakable, and in complete command of her stage, even when nature decides to join the show.
Do you want me to also make a more playful, entertainment-magazine version of this so it reads with extra wit and personality for celebrity press? That could lean into the “grasshopper guest star” moment.
