Fans of the critically acclaimed series The Night Manager have been waiting nearly a decade for news on Season 2—and the wait is finally over. Barry Ryan, head of production at Ink Factory, the company behind the show, recently revealed exciting details about the upcoming season in an interview with Variety.

Starring Tom Hiddleston and Olivia Colman, both of whom are confirmed to return, Season 2 promises to deliver a fresh and gripping storyline largely set in Colombia. Ryan disclosed that “more than 75 percent of the story is about Colombia,” signaling a bold new direction for the espionage thriller.

The production team’s choice to focus heavily on Colombia comes with high praise for Rodrigo Guerrero, head of AG Studios, who is overseeing the shoot. Ryan described Guerrero as an “amazing ambassador for the country,” applauding his professionalism, care for the crew, and passion for showcasing Colombia’s beauty and talent to the world.

Variety also revealed some of the stunning locations featured in Season 2. Filming took place at a villa in Girardot—about four hours from Bogotá—as well as in the vibrant Caribbean port city of Cartagena and the bustling metropolis of Medellín. These diverse settings promise to add rich visual depth and authenticity to the new season’s narrative.

Alongside Season 2 of The Night Manager, Ink Factory is also producing Season 3, hinting at a continuing saga for the popular series.

For fans eagerly anticipating the return of this espionage drama, the Colombian backdrop and the reunion of Hiddleston and Colman signal an exciting new chapter in The Night Manager’s story.
