Brad Pitt is embracing a reflective phase of his life, one marked by learning from past mistakes and appreciating the importance of close, supportive relationships. The 61-year-old actor recently shared his thoughts on navigating life’s ups and downs during an interview at the F1 premiere in Mexico City on June 9.
Speaking candidly about his life and experiences, Pitt emphasized the value of learning from mistakes rather than dwelling on them. “No matter the mistake, you know, you just learn from it and move on,” Pitt said. “It’ll lead to the next success.” For the actor, it’s not about avoiding mistakes, but rather growing from them—a sentiment he’s carried with him through the years.
Pitt also reflected on the importance of surrounding oneself with people who truly care. “Really, I think you get to my age and see how important it is to surround yourself with the people you know, the people you love, the people that love you back,” he said. “Friends, family, and that’s it. From there, we get to go make things. It’s a pretty simple, I think, equation.”
His thoughts on relationships echo sentiments shared in a previous interview with GQ in May, where Pitt described his personal life as “contained” and “secure.” Despite his long history of media attention, dating back decades, Pitt stressed that his life now feels more grounded and focused. “My personal life is always in the news,” he said in the GQ interview. “It’s been in the news for 30 years, bro. Or some version of my personal life, let’s put it that way.”
In discussing his current experience filming F1, Pitt was asked if driving fast cars served as a refuge from the media frenzy that has followed him for much of his career. “Um, I don’t see it that way,” he responded. “It’s been an annoyance I’ve had to always deal with in different degrees, large and small, as I do the things I really want to do.” For Pitt, the focus is on enjoying the moments that matter most—his work, his loved ones, and his personal growth.
Reflecting on his personal life, Pitt acknowledged that despite the relentless media attention, his life feels secure and fulfilling. “Mostly I feel pretty… My life is fairly contained. It feels pretty warm and secure with my friends, with my loves, with my fam, with my knowledge of who I am,” he shared. “That, you know, it’s like this fly buzzing around a little bit.”
Pitt’s relationship with jewelry designer Ines de Ramon, whom he has been dating since late 2022, is one area of his life that appears to be particularly fulfilling. According to a source close to Pitt, he is “happy” with de Ramon and feels that things are “low-key” for his family. “They’re in a great place,” the insider told PEOPLE in March. “Life’s good, no complaints.”
The actor’s recent reflections come on the heels of the release of F1, an action-packed movie from Apple Original Films, set to hit theaters on June 27, just days before the Austrian Grand Prix. As Pitt continues to navigate his career and personal life with a sense of clarity and peace, it’s clear that his journey is about more than just the successes and mistakes—it’s about finding balance, peace, and the people who support him along the way.
